WELCOME TO THE LAW OF ATTRACTION

Law of Attraction is a philosophy concerning how and why all things are connected.  It's about how "thoughts become things" because "birds of a feather flock together."

Thanks for visiting TheLawofAttraction.info, your go-to, one-stop home on your journey to understanding its many mysteries, mechanics, and morals.

Our goal is simple: a digital home full straight-forward yet incredibly thorough ways of understanding Law of Attraction.

For most people, their understanding of the Law is connected to their desire to "attract" the things they want; It is a means to an end.

They are not wrong, but that's just the tip of the iceberg!  By taking the time to dig deep in the philosophies, how it works, and why it exists everywhere, it will reveal a outlook for life that's filled with peace, creation, and positivity.

So, how does it work?  What's the "attracting" part?

The wider definition goes back to a basic idea in science:  that all solids, liquids, and gases are comprised of particles that are attracted to each other.

Law of Attraction includes this, and exceeds it, stating that if any two things are alike, they will be pulled towards one another. Like magnets.

So, if you want to "use" the Law to attract the things you want, the idea is to find a way to become a closer vibrational match to those things, which will allow them to flow naturally into your life experience.

"The universe does not hear what you're saying.

it only feels the vibration of what you're offering."

How do I tune my vibration in the direction of the things I want?

Your emotions are an indicator of where you are, from a vibrational point of view.

Let’s use an example: You want to attract more money. How do you feel when you think about money?

Before you answer that, here's something to consider... Keep your answer extremely basic

When you think about money, do you generally feel BAD or do you feel GOOD?

If you feel bad, THAT is your indicator of where you stand vibrationally regarding the topic of money.  When you feel bad while thinking about something, it is an indicator that you are not a vibrational match to it… rather, you are a vibrational match to the LACK of it.

What do you mean by "vibration"?

Vibration refers to the "vibrational frequency" in everything.

Here's the easiest way to understand this: Quantum Physics tells us that everything in the Universe is in a constant state of vibration.  Take a look at the skin on your hand:  it is made up of millions of little particles vibrating at extremely fast speeds.  The reason you are able to physically see it is because light (also a frequency) hits it, bounces it back to your eyes, and is translated in the brain.

Everything is vibration, including our thoughts, both conscious and subconscious.

Therefore, the things we want are also vibrating at a specific frequency.  The reason certain people seem to naturally attract certain things is because their vibrations are more “tuned” to those particular things.

That last sentence is a major key understanding of Law of Attraction, so let's say it again!

When you feel bad while thinking about something,

it is an indicator that you are not a vibrational match to it…

rather, you are a vibrational match to the LACK of it.

You are being triggered by your lack of money more than your desire for money.  Therefore, you unconsciously (or sometimes, consciously) push money away, rather than allowing it to come to you. In other words, you are attracting more  of not having it.

This is Law of Attraction at its core.

Here's another way to look at Law of Attraction

"A BELIEF

IS JUST A THOUGHT YOU'VE PRACTICED

OVER AND OVER AGAIN."

If I think about what I want, and I feel GOOD, now what?

Then, GOOD!  Keep feeling good.  The key to attracting the things you want is actually simple:  Focus on them, and do everything in your power to feel really, really good.

"Flow downstream" - Abraham

Can it really be that simple?

Yes.

It is usually that simple?

Not always.  And the complications usually stem from three reasons:

#1. When we really want something, it's implied that we don't have it yet.  And it's easy to fall into the trap of focusing too much on not-having it -- which is not the same as focusing on the desire itself.

#2. We fall into the trap of focusing on the things we don't want, rather than what we do want.  Saying "I don't want to be poor" is not the same as saying "I want to be rich!"

   and/or

#3.  Time.  When we're first inspired by something and decide "I like that, I want that!" it is very exciting.  But over time, if we're not careful, our "stuff" will start to creep in: our impatience, anxiety, general "giving up", or our own fears, excuses, or feelings of inadequacy or being not-worthy.  Then we get stuck in #1, accidentally focusing on the fact that we don't have these things yet.

And for a special bonus:

4. OTHER PEOPLE.  Have you ever shared your dreams and desires with someone else, only for them to tell you to "be realistic!" or "you can't do that!"  Even if they love you, and even if you they mean the best for you.

If you are not standing strong in your own energetic state-of-being, other people's doubts can become YOUR doubts, which will dampen your ability to attract positive things in your life.

(So, be very mindful with whom you decide to spend your time!)

How did “Law of Attraction” become popular?

There is currently a worldwide appeal for understanding the Law, which is largely attributed to the 2006 release of the movie The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, followed by a heavy endorsement by television personality Oprah Winfrey (and many others).

The film spoke about the Law of Attraction as a well-hidden power used by the ultra-successful in helping them amass their riches and success.  Hence, the title of the film.

Incidentally, the book and film have grossed over $300 million in only a few years.  Among the (now) famous teachers featured in the movie are Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, Joseph Vitale, and John Assaraf.

The secret they refer to in the film is the Law of Attraction.

"As you think thoughts that feel good to you,

you will be in harmony with who you really are."

Who is the creator behind these principles?

There is no creator of the Law of Attraction.  It is better described as a discovery, rather than a creation.

From the Bible’s proclamation of “Ask and ye shall receive” to Phineas Quimby’s 19th Century claims of a “mind-cure movement”, its ideas have run through stories, philosophies, and religions throughout the world.

The phrase “Law of Attraction” is merely a 21st Century framework/ nickname for an idea that has spanned history through many different forms.

Though there is no single authority on the subject, we highly & passionately recommend the teachings of Abraham.

How do I apply the Law of Attraction?

Something to consider: to say that you need to apply the Law of Attraction is like saying you need to apply the Law of Gravity.  Law of Attraction exists whether or not you are conscious of it.

It’s best to steer your mind away from thinking you have to apply the law.  There's no such thing as "doing" the Law of Attraction.

Instead, take time to understand how the Law works.  The ultimate goal is to align yourself in the direction of the things you want.

What does it mean to "align" yourself with what you want?

First, let's review some key concepts from "The Basics" section above:

  • Everything in the Universe, including thoughts and emotions, are made of vibration.

  • How? Because all things are made of very fast-moving particles that are vibrating.  This includes thoughts, which are electro-chemical reactions in the brain that produce energy.

  • Does this relate to Law of Attraction?  Yes, because we humans are vibrating at a certain frequency and attract situations, people, events, and actual physical things into our lives because of these vibrational frequencies.

  • Example?  Those who “vibrate with” success naturally attract it.  They see themselves as successful in all things, they look for evidence to support this fact (and they find it!), they talk about it, they think it, and most importantly they feel it.

So where does alignment fit in?  If you want something, you must adjust your frequency to match the frequency of those desires.

More specifically, you must raise your vibration

This will cause you to align with those things, and they will start to come into your life experience... and sometimes it feels almost like magic.

"As you think thoughts that feel good to you,

you will be in harmony with who you really are."

(One last note on alignment...)

You may notice it's easier to align on certain subjects, and more difficult on others.

If all things are made of vibration, this certainly includes our thoughts. Not just our conscious thoughts -- but our unconscious thoughts as well.

Unconscious (also known as subconscious) thoughts are largely responsible for our general vibrational states, and therefore our lives as a whole.

This is why our emotions are such powerful tools for detecting the state of our vibration.  They are a window into the subconscious: a window that only we can fully and clearly see into.

What do we do if the Law of Attraction does not seem to be working for us?

There are definitely stories of people who feel they failed.  That they tried to attract the things they want, and it “didn’t work.”  Maybe they wonder if they’re doing it wrong.  Maybe they started to doubt if the Law of Attraction is real, or if it only works if you do it the “right” way.

So what happens if we start to think and feel “the things I want are not coming.”  “It’s not working.”

Here’s the… kind of backwards part of this Law of Attraction.

With Law of Attraction, you get what you think about.  And you get what you “vibe” about: what you feel about.

So if you’re feeling that something isn’t coming… you’re actually vibrating the “not-coming”.  And you’re attracting more of the “not-coming”!  As Abraham says, "Law of Attraction never gets it wrong."

Remember in the Introduction section, we said:  When you feel bad while thinking about something, it is an indicator that you are not a vibrational match to it… rather, you are a vibrational match to the LACK of it”

"Eventually" seems like a long road.  Is there a faster way to get there?

Yes, there is:

Train your subconscious mind.

"When you visualize

for the joy

of visualization,

rather than with the intention

of correcting some deficiency,

your thoughts are more pure

and therefore more powerful."

Law of Attraction, positive thinking, inspiration, motivation, vibration, the secret, abraham hicks, think and grow rich, louise hay, jack canfield, eckhart tolle, chicken soup for the soul

So how do I fix this problem?

A good first step is to change your language around it.  Instead of getting away from something you don't want, talk like you're heading towards something you DO want.

Instead of trying to “fix the problem”, head TOWARDS "getting back on track".

If you’re looking to shed some weight, don’t work on “losing weight”.  Work on “being slim, healthy, and more energetic!”

If you’re looking to make more money, change the language.  “I am working towards increasing my wealth!”

If you’re looking to find love, the words “looking to find” implies a not-having.  Flip it on its head:  “Love is looking for ME.”

Look to and head towards what you want.  Talk only about that.  Think only about that.

And eventually, your vibration will naturally start to rise.

What is the criticism against the Law of Attraction?

The most common criticism is that the law of attraction is a pseudoscience not based around facts.

In a very big way, the Law of Attraction exists in human consciousness and emotions — in our minds and hearts.  And because it is scientifically impossible to measure the contents of your heart and soul, it’s nearly impossible to prove the existence of Law of Attraction… At least from the parameters with which we measure science.

In the same way it is scientifically impossible to measure or prove the existence of love, it is impossible to measure the Law of Attraction.  But love exists.  Because we all have, at one point or another, felt it.

Is the Law of Attraction Dangerous?

Imagine this scenario: you are getting ready to make an omelette. You prepare by laying out all your ingredient, when one of your eggs rolls off the kitchen counter, falls to the floor, and splatters.

Which scientific principle is responsible for that occurrence? Gravity.

Is gravity dangerous?  No.

But sometimes, can you get an unwanted result if you don't know how to "play by its rules"?  Absolutely.

Remember: the Law of Attraction cannot be turned on or off, nor is it something that can really be “used”.  Therefore, there is no danger in the Law of Attraction itself.

There is also nothing to fear about it.  The more you understand it, the more hope it will give you -- because the heart of the Law of Attraction means being solution-focused, easy, and blissful.  Nothing to fear here!
